Why do human beings, after so many millennia, so astonishingly intelligent in one direction, in the technological direction, do not apply that quality of intelligence to their own lives and see whether it is possible to live without conflict? What are the causes of human conflict? Why does one live a daily life in conflict? In our relationship, in our actions, why is there such conflict, struggle, pain?
J. Krishnamurti, recognized the world over as one of the greatest religious teachers of all times, was born in south India in 1895. As a young man, he underwent certain mystical experiences which, as he said, made him touch ‘the compassion that heals all sorrow and suffering’. Then, for more than sixty years, till his passing away in 1986, he travelled the world over, talking to people about the need to change themselves radically by understanding the psychological factors that shape human lives. In doing so, he gave a new direction and meaning to man’s search for Truth or God.
